Every year, Muslim Aid provides food support to hundreds of families in Pakistan under its Seasonal Programmes. The occasions like Ramadan and Zabeeha, are two main festivities, when Muslim Aid enables those impoverished and under-served communities including needy, orphans, widows and elderly people to enjoy the spirit of Ramadan and Zabeeha without being discriminated or left behind due their financial or social circumstances. Sidra Hanif is an orphan child, sponsored by Muslim Aid under its Rainbow Family Programme. She hails from a mountainous town of Murre, 40 KM away from district Rawalpindi. She is among those children who receive Ramadan Food packs and Eid gifts ever year by Muslim Aid. It’s been over 5 years that Sidra Hanif is getting food-support from Muslim Aid at the start of the holy month of Ramadan. It helps supports Sidra and her family in meeting nutritional needs of the family.
“Ramadan is a month of blessings and it brings many joys for us. One such token of joy is getting food packs from Muslim Aid. As my father is no more in this world and my mother is the only bread earner of the family, therefore; this food support form Muslim Aid saves us money and helps my mother to spend it on our clothing and shopping for Eid.”
