Health has been included
in Muslim Aid activities from 2008 but more focus has been given to
the health projects from 2008 onwards. Both emergency and developmental
projects have been included in health since 2008. Projects of different
duration have been focus and more intensity and frequency of the health
projects has been seen since 2010 floods. Muslim Aid team has been supporting
government through the strengthening/rehabilitation of government health
facilities and provision of Primary Health Care (PHC) services at all
the targeted flood affected districts. A very strong coordination has
been built with WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA and government at district, provincial
and federal levels. Muslim Aid Mega Health Project includes construction
of 50 Bedded Hospital at Mansehra after the horrible 2005 earthquake
for relief and help of the needy communities in the area.MAP services
and achievements have been acknowledged at all the different forums
and have been highly appreciated throughout. Services other than PHC
include free of cost medicines provision, mobile health units, community
participation, health and hygiene awareness sessions, health promotion,
laboratory screening services, referral services with the help of ambulance
and DEWS & CHARM reporting. There has been a high focus on provision
of 24/7 MNCH services and activities have been targeted at needy places
at all the 03 provinces. Future plans include focus on MNCH, Nutrition
and Laboratory Services; however Emergency Response all over Pakistan
will continue and the future seems to be a very promising one.
