In partnership with Water Aid in Pakistan, Muslim Aid WASH-CLTS and School WASH projects team celebrated Global Hand Washing Day on October 15, 2014 in govt. boys and girls schools of Tehsil Jampur, district Rajanpur.
To raise the awareness about Hand Washing at 6 critical times, very colorful activities i.e. Wall Painting, Poster Competition, Community Walk, and Theater Performance were arranged. Students, parents, civil society members and govt. officials from educational department of district Rajanpur participated in all activities.
At this occasion, Assistant Education Officer Mr. Abdul Gahffar chaired the events. He said that the initiative Muslim Aid has taken to aware the children and communities about hygienic practices will definitely promote healthy practices among society. He appreciated Muslim Aid Rajanpur team for organizing such interactive events.Addressing to the attendees of programs, Mr. Babar Ali District Coordinator Muslim Aid Rajanpur said that Global Hand washing Day is more than just a day. We want the message to spread from children to families and communities. Halting the spread of diarrheal disease is not complicated, or costly, but it is critically important that hand washing with soap becomes routine for everyone. He said. That we are pulling out all the stops to ensure that everyone gets the message of hand washing on all critical times. He appreciated project team for organizing good activities and aimed that Muslim Aid will keep these awareness raising efforts going in future too.
Principles of all schools also participated and appreciated Muslim Aid team for organizing such wonderful activities.
