 Flood Emergency Response 2010

Muslim Aid provides a relief of Rs 50 million

  • Muslim Aid is extending its support to different parts of the country to help flood affected people.
  • Muslim Aid was among the first charities to launch an appeal to help flood affectees, and it had upgraded its appeal from £100,000 to £2million in UK.
  • So Far Muslim Aid provided a relief of Rs 50 million
  • There are massive challenges on the ground to provide rescue, food, clean water, medicines and shelter.
  • It is the collective responsibility of all the stake holders to stand united and make the various emergency appeals successful in helping the flood-hit people.
  • We urge the international community to help the people of Pakistan. The level of damages in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, Sindh, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and Balochistana (flood-hit areas) were so great that it would require many years of permanent commitment to the affectees rebuild their future.
  • We are working in Minwali (Punjab), Charsadda & Nowshehra (Khyber Pakhtoonkhawa), Sakhar & Shekarpur (Sindh)

Khaglanwala, Qamar Mashani, Kalabagh ,Tehsil Esa Khel, Mari Indus, Daudkhel (the most affected areas of all the UCs are those who are situated in the Katcha Area of the river Indus)
