Muslim Aid Pakistan has improved WASH facilities in 67 government schools of tehsil Jampur by constructing latrines equipped with hand pumps and hand washing facilities in this highly remote area. Muslim Aid team also conducted awareness raising sessions for schools management to sensitize them about provision of better WASH facilities for school children. The impact of these activities has been tremendous as the situation of WASH facilities has improved resulting in a better and cleaner learning environment for the students. Mr Abdullah is the Head Master of boys primary school in Garhi Sultan Shah who explains how Muslim Aid team has helped him in providing better WASH facilities for his students: “MAP team visited our school and educated us on provision of better WASH facilities for our students . They also briefed us on effective utilization of non-salary budget for improving WASH facilities in our school. It is because of their efforts that today our school is among those few schools where status of WASH facilities has improved significantly. We have spent Rs. 60,900 for improvement of basic WASH facilities including : installation of a water bore, hand pump, wash basin and purchasing of water pipe to water the plants in school area”. Muslim Aid Pakistan team is happy to see these children grow and learn in a safe and hygienic environment.
