Muslim Aid, a UK based relief and development agency working in flood-hit areas, has handed over eight trucks of relief goods for flood affectees to Pakistan Army worth 5.5 million on Friday.
Muslim Aid in collaboration with Lakson Tobacco Company (LTC) handed over relief goods to Maj. General Khadim Hussain Commander Logistics Rawalpindi.
In handing over ceremony, Maj. General Khadim Hussain Commander Logistics Rawalpindi, Muslim Aid Country Director Khobaib A Vahedy and officials of Army and LTC were present. The consignment handed over to Army includes Food Packs, Medicines, Water Purification Tablets, Non Food Items (NFEs).
Muslim Aid Resource Manager Syed Khurram Khursheed said that relief goods which were handed over to Army will be distributed by Pakistan Army in the areas where people are entangled and trapped in the water. These relief goods will cater the needs of 1500 families, he added.
At the end of the handing over ceremony, Maj. General Khadim Hussain Commander Logistics Rawalpindi thanked Muslim Aid and LTC for extending its support to flood-affected people. Both the organisations will continue their support to help the needy in devastated areas, he vowed. |
